I asked you all how you started ‘Back to school” in my last post. We start every year with pictures all lined up. The kids enjoy seeing how much they’ve grown from year to year. They also wake up to new school items on their desks. This year, I borrowed the idea of giving each child a card from us to start the new year off.
This year we have a 10th grader, a 7th grader, a 5th grader, a 3rd grader, and a 1st grader!
Here is the comparison from last year:
There wasn’t a lot we needed. I went back through our stash of school supplies to make sure we didn’t just buy things to buy things. I found a few cute little wooden items for the girls to all have for painting. I picked up a snail, a ladybug, a butterfly, and a turtle from Wal*mart and also a plaque for the boy to have to modge podge a picture to. I also found a few great posters and fun things like the color yourself ABC banner for MM at the dollar store.
Each year we also try to snap a “school picture” but I take into consideration our high schooler who likes to look nice for pictures. This year I got each child after Mass the Sunday before we started school. I think they all are growing up all too quickly!
Cookie, 10th grade
Opie, 7th grade
Moonbeam, 5th grade ( can you see where she gets her nickname?)
Bluebelle, 3rd grade
MM, 1st grade
We also enjoyed our first day of school with my sister visiting with her sweet baby, Christian!
I hope you all have a great school year!
