I am a devoted military spouse to a wonderful Army soldier and a mother of nine, five in my care, four in our Lord’s care. Luke, Mark, Karoline, and Matthew are interceding for us every day as we wait to one day be together again. Our military life has taken us far from family, but so close to many new friends. This life of moving around, with a call from above, has lead me to homeschooling our children.

I enjoy cooking new recipes with dh, playing and making crafts with my children, reading, walking and talking with God through nature, prayer and song. Some of my favorite things are a hot cup of coffee or tea, a bundle of wildflowers, a beautifully painted sky, and sweet loving smiles from my adoring children.

  1. What a lovely blog, you are very talented, your children are truly blessed to have a wonderful mom!
    In pace Christi,

    • Dearest Family, our prayers go to your beautiful family.
May God bless you both and now we have another angel in heaven to help us out.
      Love, and more prayers.

  2. Praying for all of you and especially Matthew Karol. My youngest is Marek Karol. (Marek is Polish version of Mark)
Love and Blessings to you all!

  3. We’re so happy to see little Matthew is hanging in there. He’s beautiful! Keeping you in our prayers … xoxo

  4. Happy Birthday to the little man! He’s into the same things as his “God-brother” 🙂 Miss y’all so much.

  5. My brother, Fr. Kevin Peek, told me about your website at the beginning of this month. Our sister Elizabeth is currently going through a rough pregnancy and needs prayers. Like you, she is an incredibly gifted seamstress as well as other items. Her website is whizbeth. I might have the spelling wrong.

Your attitude towards both your blessings and your losses is inspirational to me. The Litany of Humility is one of my favorite prayers although I feel like there are days when I am taking one step forwards and two steps back.

I will sincerely pray my rosary tonight for you as you struggle with your sadness. As you lift others up with your story, I hope you feel lifted up by all of their prayers.

God bless you – tell Opie that I especially love that picture of him with those two priests. They look vaguely familiar. 🙂

    Love and prayers,

    • Thank you Denise for your kind words. I’ve kept Elizabeth in my prayers since Fr Told me. It can be so very hard. Your family is such an inspiration to me as well. So strong in the Faith and Trust in God. God Bless you, Denise. Love Emily

  6. Today marks another similarity in our lives.

My sister Margaret who has five boys (#4 boy is named Mathew) just gave birth today to her first baby girl Isabelle Marie.

I thought of you today when the Gospel according to Matthew was read. Little things that the world often overlooks – how deeply they touch other’s lives. We used to tease my nephew Mathew that the Gospel was according to him and what was he going to share with us today.

May your Matthew watch over and guide little Isabelle.

    God bless you once more,

  7. Emily,

What a nice blog. Thanks for sharing. Any chance there is an email address for you so I can send you a quick note?

  8. I’m not sure if you remember me but we corresponded a while ago. We moved from Ft Campbell as you were arriving. I was thinking about your sweet family as I prayed for mine in their first day if school (I’m always in a little awe of homeschoolers!). Needless to say, I haven’t had much time to be reading blogs but wanted to see how you all were. It’s ironic that you all are moving to MD. We just moved to Clarksville, MD. My husband is stationed at Walter Reed in Bethesda. We have found a wonderful community at St Louis Catholic church. I wasn’t sure if you all were going to be at Ft Meade but if you are, it would be fun to meet you all sometime. Praying for your move and transition. Congratulations on your sweet baby!

  9. Emily,
My dear friend Fr Kevin Peek told me to look at your blog. It’s truly an inspiration.
I am pregnant with my 5th child, however, my previous 4 are with The Lord. I’m praying and trusting that if this child is meant to be in our care, God will make that happen!
