In Kentucky with our friends for a visit!

We’ve moved from Texas…

Here is Ope with his Godfather, Father Kevin along with his brother, Father Joseph at Fr Kevin’s surprise 40th birthday party in Georgia!

I am trying hard to fit more hours into my day so I can accomplish all that I have set out… I am incapable of keeping up with all that Opie makes and draws.. Here is a neat star viewer he made.. He walked up to me and said, “Mom look in here at the stars…”

In His Blue Knights class We discussed Christ, Son of God. The memory verse for this lesson was from John 14:6

Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.

We made Catholic Monstrances out of candlesticks and gold pipe cleaners

We have enjoyed watching the hummers at our house so our Opie (named after Opie on The Andy Griffith Show b/c they are similar.. ) made a hummer puppet out of tinkertoys.. he can almost create anything from nothing… when I am throwing things out I hear… “ooooo… can I have that?” He doesn’t stop thinking.. He’ll even make a blueprint of what he wants to make. He also drew a hummer in his nature journal.

  1. Opie, you are so talented! Sugarbear hung the Star Wars picture you drew him in his room, it is really good. You have definately been blessed with artistic skills. Keep it up!

  2. We want to make your Monstrance craft for our Catholic Camp program here in Georgia this summer, but we are struggling with getting the ring to stick to the wooden candlestick holder. Any tips on how you got the ring to stick upright. We have tried epoxy, hot glue, and super glue. The only thing that has worked has been to drill a hole in the candlestick, but we have 75 to make and that would be a pain. Thank you!
